Where do teams stay?
All players, coaches and personnel must stay at one of the event host sites. There will be options to stay at a local hotel or on campus dorm rooms.
The on Campus option will include options for single or double room occupancy, AC, and all meals provided at meal hall.
Why Dalhousie University?
The tournament provides a true university experience for youth, and a taste of campus life. Many university scouts and coaches will be in attendance, and the tournament brings top footballers from across the country to showcase themselves in a focused, supportive, and safe campus environment. Dalhousie University has a long-history in sports and academics. Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, the Campus has World Class athletic facilities. There will be options for Campus tours as well as access to several on-site facilities.
What is the quality of teams attending?
The tournament is by invitation only with 8 teams per division being recruited from across Canada. The concept is to create opportunities annually for elite domestic competition with east-west pathways developing across Canada. Teams will be at a level of competing for provincial finals, at a minimum in their home province, and should be a competitive standard nationally against any club in their age group. We have two Atlantic Canadian Canada Games squads who will also participate locally.
Why is a deposit required?
This is a professional level tournament that will run annually, and for planning purposes deposits are required for teams to reserve their spots within the tournament.
Our team wants to arrive early and train?
Teams are welcome to arrive early and book turf or grass fields to train while staying at Dalhousie University and exploring the sights of Halifax, N.S. A short drive away are many beaches and outdoor adventures as well as restaurants and pubs and outdoor activities to visit in the area all within walking distance.
Who is organizing the event?
Sports Entertainment Atlantic (S|EA) is the event management partner, and will be providing all event logistics. SEA has experience in hosting World Junior Hockey Championships, International Rugby matches, CFL Atlantic as well as several USports National Competitions.
Are the fields and facilities close to the accommodations and meals?
The on-campus housing is literally a 5 minute walk to the fields, so you can park your vehicle for the weekend, and walk everywhere you need to go.
